Introduction to the 5 Strategies I used to Overcome Obstacles
At any given time in our lives we are faced with varying degrees of obstacles, whether they are physical, emotional, social, or self-imposed. Overcoming the obstacle represents an amazing opportunity for self-growth and discovery.
After a serious brain infection, I was left fighting for my life and paralyzed. Five years later, I was walking across the stage at my graduation from Chiropractic College. Throughout this journey, I was faced with many obstacles and I would like to share what I have learned.
The 5 Strategies I used to Overcome Obstacles:
- Find Your Passion
- Practice Patience
- Have Trust
- Willingness to “DO”
- Express Gratitude
Passion: You are the only one who has been there to experience every moment of your life. What ignites that fire inside you? When there are obstacles preventing you from reaching your desired goal, it is essential that you remind yourself of the passion or driving force to achieve this goal.
Patience: Nothing that is worthwhile comes easy. Be prepared to encounter hardship prior to seeing your desired outcome.
Trust: Have trust that everything will work out the way it is supposed to.
Willingness: You have to be willing to DO the work, to the best of your abilities.
Gratitude: Be thankful for what you do have and what you have accomplished along the way.
All of these strategies worked together to drive me to reach goals that seemed unattainable, at the time. My subsequent articles will focus on each of the five strategies I used to overcome the obstacles following my illness.
