If enlightenment is the ultimate goal of someone on a spiritual path, and that is what Stage 10—Ascent is about, then why are there two other stages? Is connecting with the source of all and finally seeing the true nature of life, the universe and everything the be all and end all? Surely there’s got to be more to it? And there is, with two more stages of healing to go.
In Stage 8, as we sensed the rhythms within the emptiness, we realized that we were having a spiritual experience. In Stage 9, as we experienced the light behind the form, the awareness that we are actually souls having a physical experience developed. When we connected with Stage 10, we had the knowing that we are not individual souls but as Dr. Epstein puts it, we are, “Spirit having a physical hallucination.”
Hallucinations are fun and all, however, being in that space for eternity does not allow Spirit or us to learn and grow within the paradox of being both connected to everything and an individual soul at the same time. If we are sitting on a mountain simply being in awe of our oneness and of the beauty of all that is, how do we truly know what our gifts are as a soul? How do we learn to give these gifts to others? We cannot receive the gifts of others either.
For this reason, Stage 11—Descent is a necessary evolution in our healing. Through our descent back to being an individual soul with the knowing that we are so much more, we see that we have a far greater responsibility to others. The reason we are here is to learn what our gifts are and to share them with others to heal the planet.
We seek our soul’s purpose here on Earth and it becomes our mission to infuse and enact it in every action and interaction. We know that our soul has a particular style that is unique to us and that it is our duty to add this style to everything we touch. The purpose and style we have is all about the difference that we make in the world just in being. It has nothing to do with accomplishing or motivating or inspiring others to do or learn something. It is simply the joy, lightness, grace or humour that we may bring to the interaction. Our purpose is to share gifts such as levity, discernment, abundance or compassion. In Stage 11, we want to know what our soul style is so that we can fulfill our purpose of sharing our gifts with the world.
We no longer seek love. We know that there is only love and that we are love. We do not get hooked by stories when we have interactions where someone does not show us love. There is no “your love” or “my love”. There is only the one love that we all are. We give love and we receive love from others even when it is not outwardly apparent. We know the world is abundant and perfect. There are no accidents. We are provided with nothing but opportunities to share our gifts and that is what we are meant to do. We are grateful for the opportunity to do so and for the gifts that we receive from others.
It is thanks to our communion with the Universal Spirit that we have the knowing that our soul has its individual style and purpose. This allows us to live in the paradox of being both One and an individual at the same time. With joy and gratitude, we share our gifts, knowing that what we do to another, we do to each other and ourselves as well.
