How would it be to awaken to your true self, completely free of all concepts of the mind and demands of the ego? Can you imagine just getting right down to your core nature, where there is only connection and service to others? Right now I’m exploring it, hence the inspiration for this article.
So, to start, let’s just say we’re done with all the fears of being a worthless “Nobody ”. I know it sounds harsh, but we’ve all been in a place where we were so scared that people would find out we were frauds that we constructed our lives around keeping that day from happening. But one day we got the courage to say, “Enough of this! I take my life back! I deserve more than this!”
We’re also done with proving to everyone that we are a “Somebody” —you know — striving to build up our accomplishments so that people know exactly how much value we have. We’ve now taken an inventory of everything that we feel is important to who we are and we’ve purged all the rest.
So what’s left? Nothing. Just a big, wonderful emptiness that is waiting for something new to fill it. We’ve reached the pivotal stage where we are looking beyond ourselves. We now know that we must contribute and serve and that is why we are here. This is the point where we can truly be genuine.
Genuine means way more than being authentic. It really means to be expressing our genius. Although it may be hard to believe, each and every one of us has some genius in us. We all came from the same source of universal love and intelligence and therefore there has to be a bit of that in each of us. It’s up to us to find it, embrace it and share it.
So what is it? How do we find our gifts ? Well that process we went through to get to this point, I mean the above paragraphs leading up to being genuine leaves us some clues.
Anything that you did not feel that you had, or you felt had been withheld from you, points you in the direction of your gift. Whatever you were striving to get your whole life is that which you are actually supposed to give to others.
Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin. When you give to others, you receive in abundance. So what is it that you are meant to give? How can you truly be genuine and share your genius with the world? What is the contribution that you will make through service to others?
If you felt deprived of love, you must give love and show others that they are lovable. If you lacked self worth, your gift is in the building of value in others. If you never were able to express yourself, your contribution will come through the way you help others bring forth the gifts they must express. Whatever it is that you feel was your wound in life is exactly that which you must bring into the world through service to others.
How can you be genuine? Could your genius really be found in the things that hurt you so much? Through your life, take an inventory of your biggest wounds. How have these shaped the life you are living today? What would happen if you contributed to others by bringing to them that which you felt you never had? How would that empower and enrich both your life and theirs? Imagine a world where everyone was genuine!
