Last week we discussed the death of the identity in Level 2C. The concept is that a person's transition from a mental awareness to a soul awareness leaves the construct of the identity as useless.
Another thing that happens is that the nervous system clears out all anchors of defense around the phase of tension, or tension pattern, that is being addressed. For example, if you had a tension pattern caused by a lack of trust in people (Phase 2--C5), all the tension in your spine and nervous system protecting you from feeling that lack of trust would be released.
A Level 2C 'clear out' can occur in any of the five phases of tension in Network Spinal Analysis (NSA). This means that up until level 2C, the concept of the phase is defended. You protect yourself against the concept of the phase out of fear of being hurt. In Phase 2--C5 for example you would have tension in the neck around C5 and in the spine in corresponding areas to keep you from always feeling resentful towards or betrayed by people.
From Level 2C on, the concept of the phase shifts to the pure expression of the gift, or the positive side of the phase from your soul. So, protection from a lack of trust would shift to the knowing of your soul, and that all other souls are good, which would in turn result in trust on that level, regardless of what a person did.
The 'clear out,' as you can see, is a very powerful moment for a person. The shift from the defended self, to the undefended self completely destabilizes a person's concept of the world. Everything becomes different. For the moments when there are no anchors of defense in the system, who that person was, is gone.
As you can imagine, an enormous degree of safety needs to be created for a person to be able to reach this point. And when there is no safety, it is difficult for a person to remain at this point. For this reason, a 2C clear out is usually only sustainable for a short period of time. Those moments, however, are pivotal in a person's life from that point forward. It is also beneficial for many reasons for someone to have an identity. It certainly helps with things like interacting with others and holding down a job!
The wisdom gained from the clear out can be used to reconstruct the identity from a place of openness and safety. This is very important because, up until that point, the identity is built from protection from previous hurts and traumas. After a clear out, a person can see the possibility of having a self that is based on openness.
Immediately following a 2C clear out, it may be hard to walk, talk, think or drive. The best thing to do is to remain seated and just be. Take your time to re-enter the real world. It actually is not a safe place. Traffic can kill you and people will take advantage of you. So just take things in and observe how it can be possible to bring more of the undefended you into your day to day life.
