Dr. Paul Newton 2011
We are well into the holiday season and nearing one of the most stressful times of the year. As 2012 approaches, we are not only looking at the end of 2011, but this year the Mayan calendar also ends, speculated by some that it signifies the conclusion of the world as we know it. I’m not talking doom and gloom here. After all, just like our Gregorian calendar rolls into a new year, the Mayan’s rolls from one long-count period to another. However, I do believe that the way the world works is radically shifting. Everything is changing so rapidly that, even from one day to the next, we cannot count on the same strategy being successful. And it is only getting more painfully obvious that our social and economic systems no longer fit.
So how do we adapt to a whole new world? Well, it starts by changing the direction in which we focus our attention. We can focus outwardly on the things around us that do not fit with, and may even appear to threaten, the way we function in our lives. This is a recipe for pain and suffering. Or we can direct our energy inwardly towards our strengths that help us to be resourceful, adaptable and to see new opportunities in an exciting and dynamic new environment. Would you be willing to choose the option that allows for your growth?
If you choose to turn your focus inward and use your energy to develop skill sets for your evolution, while everything around you changes, you will be able to thrive. Never before has life progressed at this pace, and this is the first time in history when one person can so easily have a global impact. But in order to do this, you must know what you value, what you want and have a vision of how it will play out in the world. Never before has there been such a phenomenal platform to create and live your dreams. To be successful and flourish in this new world, you must make 2012 about you.
There was a time, not so long ago, when being selfish was considered bad. Most of us were taught that we should not focus on ourselves and that it is more important to give to others. Well, that was old world thinking. If we use all our energy in this way, we will find ourselves sick and tired with nothing left to give. To prosper in this new world, we must develop something of value within ourselves so that we then have something meaningful and fulfilling that we can share and contribute to the well-being of ourselves, our community and our planet. This means that, while it might seem selfish, we must use our time and energy to develop our strengths and gifts and learn how to thrive on this wild and crazy adventure. If we do not do this first, giving to others will be at a loss to ourselves.
So how do we develop the skills we will need to make it in a world we don’t yet know? There are so many old systems and belief patterns that need to be dropped and replaced with the 2012 upgrade. I believe this is so important that we have made the theme of 2012 at BodyMind Wellness Studio, “It’s About Me... Finally!” We are dedicating the whole year to programs, workshops, courses, articles, podcasts and videos that will build you up and create the value within that you will need to enjoy a vibrantly successful life in a brand new world.
In January 2012, as we begin the release of our “It’s About Me... Finally!” content, please notice all the new ways you can build value within yourself simply by following our newsletters, podcasts, videos and workshops. We invite you to share this precious content and help others grow as well. Many exciting new programs will be coming available over the next few months, each of which is designed to turn a regular entrainment session into a personal development experience that shifts the course of your life. As well, we are developing the content for a number of courses and workshops to have available to you in the New Year.
We hope that you are as excited as we are about the end of the world as we know it and the emergence of a beautiful new one in 2012. We truly look forward to serving you and helping you to create a life worth living and sharing. Will 2012 be about you?
