Dr. Paul Newton 2011
A very good, and extremely successful, friend
of mine told me that one of the best things he has done in his personal development has been to sign up for a daily subconscious reprogramming course by a guy named Bob Proctor. Basically, he gets a one and a half minute video every day with a worksheet that asks him to take the thought process a little deeper. It’s called ‘Six Minutes to Success’ and I signed up for it the other day. Without trying to sell you the program, I thought I would just share two key concepts discussed on the first video I watched.
The big reason I am sharing this is because my pursuit of success training is showing me that the principles of Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) and Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) have been about exactly the same thing. The biggest barrier has been the fact that there has been no clear communication about how the work we do with your spine and body relates to success in your life and the law of attraction. Having just watched the video clip, I felt inspired to write about the connection between a successful and fruitful life and a very flexible and adaptable body and mind. Bob Proctor said in his video that, “Advancement of all kind is preceded by a crisis. The greater the crisis, the greater the opportunity for advancement.” This really struck me because when we look at the rich and successful, we always seem to wonder why they have it so easy. One major reason is because of the way they think. When we see a crisis, we usually get so caught up in how bad it is. We are upset about the way it messes up our lives and get angry that we have to make changes we don’t want to make. What would happen if we flipped our perceptions and instead saw the crisis as an indicator of opportunity?
This is exactly the philosophy behind the concept of Re-Organizational Healing, Dr. Donald Epstein’s umbrella concept which includes NSA and SRI. When things stop working it is not a bad thing. A crisis, whether in your life, your health, your work, your relationship or your finances, simply shows you there is an opportunity for something better. Your physical well-being and the structure of your body just happens to be a great place to learn to observe how things are going in your life and what needs to change!
Bob Proctor goes on to say, “If it’s real bad, the law of polarity says it’s real good.” Well, polarity is Stage 2 in SRI and the 12 Stages of Healing. We usually think that being in a low stage of healing is a bad thing and want to move up the ladder to the really good ones. That just happens to be the mindset of people who are not so rich and successful. The wealthy love Stage 2! When most people are so focused on the really bad stuff going on in the economy, the government and the world, successful people know that polarities mean an equal and opposite, really great opportunity is somewhere nearby. They choose to focus on that when everyone else is looking the other way.
How can you use the wisdom that Bob Proctor shared in your life? What crisis is going on with you right now? What’s not working? Embrace the situations that show you the breakdown or inefficiency of a system or method you use in your life. Whether it is in your health, your professional life, your personal relationships or your finances, decide that this is not a problem, but rather an indicator that you are about to find a much better way to make life more fulfilling. And if it’s really bad, choose to look for the equal and opposite really good opportunity.
When our friends are more successful than we are, we may want to find some reason to point out why we can’t be like them. It sometimes even feels better to see if we can pull them back so they stay with us. This thinking is really prevalent in our culture and needs to be reprogrammed. So if you find someone really successful, or if someone you know all of a sudden figures it out, stick around and find out what they do! Copy them and soon you will enjoy what they have.
