Putting It All Together
In order to make your dreams a reality, you need to become the person who is living your dream. This means that you must change from the person you are being in your life now, to someone new, who you do not quite know yet. You must get to know this person so you can see things, do things and set things up consistently the way this person does. This requires the Triad of Change.
All three components of the triad (structure, behaviour, and perception) must be addressed for this transformation to be sustained within yourself. You must have a vision (perception) to know who you are becoming and the life you will create in the future. There has to be a plan (structure) that dictates what must happen, when and how often so that you can get from where you are now to where you want to be. And if no action (behaviour) is taken, a vision and plans are worthless.
The question is, “Which component is your lead?” If it is perception, spending time each day visioning will drive you to take the actions and set up the plans necessary to make it real. If it is structure, reviewing and updating your plan and scheduling things will make you clear on the actions necessary and the vision will become clearer. If it is action, getting started on anything, or as long as you are doing something, your plan will come together and your vision will focus.
You see, it does not matter how you enter the triad, as long as you enter it from the side that makes all three sides work together. When you enter from your strong side, the other two sides align and you get progress. If you focus on a weaker side first, you will waste a lot of time. But without addressing all three side of the triad, no change will be sustainable and your dreams will remain dreams.
Review this concept often and make sure that you are putting all three sides of the Triad of Change together. Whether you lead with structure, behaviour or perception, (see Volume 3, Issue 28 - 31 for more on each component) start with the one that is easiest before addressing the next two. When you put it all together, becoming the person who has the life of your dreams becomes inevitable.
